To conclude our learning on our most recent writing genre, procedural writing, we wrote some recipes for our own 'Strawberry Blast' smoothies. We had spent a lot of time looking at the structure of procedural texts and how to write an effective piece of our own. We discussed the importance of sequence and vocabulary and tried our hand at several different procedural writing activities and concluded our learning with our smoothie fun.
The children wrote extremely clear recipes for how to make a 'Strawberry Blast' smoothie and ensured they had the correct ingredients, sequence to their instructions and that these were clear and concise. To test how effective and clear our recipes really were, we worked through our written steps in the class and made our very own smoothie. We then sampled our work - we were extremely impressed with our efforts!!!
