During science we carried some experiments investigating the density of solids, liquids and gases. During our ‘lava lamp’ experiment we mixed oil, water and food colouring to see which liquid was denser. We then created a gas by adding a fizzy tablet and we observed if the gas would rise. We continued experimenting with density by adding raisins to fizzy water. We observed the ‘dancing raisins’ as the carbon dioxide attached to the raisins and caused them to rise to the top. The children were great at working as scientists by predicting, observing and recording their results.
