Planting bulbs

The children in senior infants are great at learning about nature all around us and often bring in leaves, shells and conkers to keep our nature table interesting. At the end of October we planted crocus, tulip, narcissi, snowdrop and  hyacinth bulbs. We learned to plant the shoot on the bulb facing upwards towards the light and the roots facing down in the compost. The boys and girls will keep the pots watered and in a warm place. We hope we will have lovely flowers peeking out in the Spring. Watch this space to find out if we do.
