For this school year, Michelle Woods, a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist, has been coming into the school once a month to help streamline and enhance our OT practices and resources used throughout the school. Michelle is a strong advocate for integrating intervention and OT into the school setting to increase children's overall participation, development and strengthen the skills of teachers and ANA’s involved in their care with an emphasis and priority placed on inclusion.
Michelle will help guide ANA's and teachers around Movement Breaks, activities, resources, regulation stations, etc. The SETNS Board of Management has kindly agreed to facilitate this.
Each floor within the school now has a designated OT area and we have enhanced these areas with new equipment. A popular new introduction is the Rody Max, which is a dynamic toy and helps develop balance, coordination and movement skills.
