FAQ

What activities are organised during the Morning Club?

The staff will organize several activities for the children who come to Morning Club. They may have different themes each week and have several stations depending on the needs of the children attending. There may be games and sports in one area, and arts and crafts in another. There will be something for everyone and a chance for children to ease into the morning.

Where do I drop my child for Morning Club?

The Morning Club will be held in the Junior and Senior classrooms. You may drop your child to Door B, the door where Junior Infants and 3rd class students come into the building each morning. This door is located on the side of the building facing the Gaelscoil.

Can I drop off my child after 7:45 am?

Yes, drop-off begins at 7:45 a.m., but you may drop off your child between this time and 8:30 a.m. If you are dropping your child after 7:45 am, you may tap on the window to the classrooms (along the front of the school) and a staff member will meet your child at the side door.

Can Jr and Sr. Infant children attend Morning Club?

Yes, all classes are welcome to register and attend Morning Club. Junior and Senior infants must be walked to the drop-off door (Door B) . Infant children must be handed off to Morning Club staff for health and safety purposes. Staff will then walk the children to their classrooms at 8:30 am.

Will there be an SNA on duty?

We will do our best to provide an SNA during Morning Club, but we cannot guarantee one will be available. SNAs are assigned to students who have the greatest need, and even if an SNA is on duty, they may still be assigned to another child. Morning Club staff will be accommodating and inclusive of all pupils; however, if issues arise, we will contact the parents and discuss the best course of action.

Is Breakfast Provided?

Food is not provided at this time; however, children are welcome to bring their breakfast or snack to eat during Morning Club. Please ensure they have plenty of water, as we don’t have access to cups.

Can I change my schedule mid-term?

It is possible if space and staffing is available. We encourage you to contact the ECA committee eca@stepasideetns.ie if you would like to make any changes to your current schedule.

What if I no longer need Morning Club?

We run registration four times a year to accommodate this. We ask that you finish out the term you are currently attending. You do not have to register for every term. Staffing is determined by the amount of children registered. Once the term begins, we cannot issue refunds for days missed or if a child no longer attends.

For all other questions and terms, please take a moment to read through our full Terms and Conditions.
