Out and about in March

After the freezing start to March we were glad to wrap up well and get outdoors to use the local environment as a base for learning. After learning about different types of materials in science we went outside on a material hunt. Another day we went on a March Walkabout as we checked off a list of aspects of the environment we could find around our school. We looked for daffodils, buds on trees and birds as well as man made aspects of our surroundings, such as signposts. These exercises helped the children became more observant and aware of their environment as they focused in on spotting these items. The children were very enthusiastic and spotted lots of aspects of our environment. Well done.
