Our last month of the school year has been a busy one!
All of the children took part in the races and games with their mainstream classes on sport's day. It was a great day and all of the children got an ice-cream and a certificate to cap the day off!
We were visited by a mobile farm on the second last day. The children got to pet rabbits, chickens, hens, roosters, guinea pigs and lambs.
We finally dug up the potatoes we had planted earlier this year and cooked them too and they were a big hit with the class!
We baked a healthy brown bread using oats, honey, natural yoghurt, an egg and a banana. The children loved the final product and ate it with some butter and jam.
Some of the Stepping Stones students joined their mainstream classes for school tours to farms and adventure centers.
This month we experimented with percussion instruments comparing the different sounds they make and following along to different beat. For an art lesson we made our own percussion instruments with containers and dry pasta and everyone decorated their creations.
We had a great year in Stepping Stones and I hope everyone has a great summer!
