We were having great fun last week with our Aistear theme of At the Pumpkin Shop. We practised the oral language we had learned to describe pumpkins, such as smooth, round, large, bumpy etc, as well as the appropriate phrases for buying items in a shop. The children had an opportunity to practise maths skills by selecting the correct coins to pay for the pumpkins. Other stations this week included cutting and sticking of Halloween consonant vowel consonant words( CVCs), such as bat and cat, making tricky words on pumpkins out of play dough, writing Halloween sentences using tricky words and constructing imaginative masks. 🎃
