We explored the theme of The Farm in Small world this month. The children had lots of fun sorting the animals into fields and pens. They demonstrated great imaginative play and practised using the vocabulary of farm animals in this area.
In construction we used the big wooden blocks this month to create buildings and structures.
In role play this month a theme emerged by pupil choice. After many weeks of another school closure the children wanted to recreate a birthday party, especially for their friends who had their birthdays during times of closures. So we introduced some props and birthday parties, birthday picnics and even birthday trips in the car were recreated. This is one of the great principles of Aistear and child led methodologies.
