Sixth Class News

Term 1 has been a wonderfully busy and productive start for 6C students. As the senior pupils of the school, they embraced their leadership roles with maturity, enthusiasm, and a great sense of responsibility.

In the classroom, the children made excellent progress across all subject areas. A big highlight this term was our project work in SESE. Students presented projects on a country of their choice. Science lessons were also a great success, with hands-on experiments that encouraged curiosity and critical thinking.

Outside the core subjects, the students enjoyed a rich programme of arts and sports. In Art, they produced impressive pieces using paint, collage, and clay. We even made film sets! Our PE sessions focused on teamwork, coordination, and fitness, with particular excitement around hockey and Olympic handball. Many students also represented the school in sporting events, demonstrating excellent school spirit.

Our Winter market was a resounding success! All 6th class students displayed inspiring entrepreneurial skills and creative flair. We managed to raise just over €1700! Thank you to all the students for their hard work and for all the parents for your unwavering support.

Overall, Term 1 has been a fantastic start to the year. Well done to all our 6th Class students for their hard work, energy, and positive attitude. We look forward to another term full of learning, growth, and memorable experiences.

6C have got off to a flying start in 2026!

We have been very busy over the past few weeks and have been getting involved in a wide range of activities. We have been working hard in English and Maths, with a strong focus on problem-solving, reading comprehension, and developing our writing skills. We will be starting our class novel in February to reignite our love of reading for the coming year!

In SESE, pupils have enjoyed engaging lessons and collaborative work, studying the likes of WW1 in History and Light in Science. In SPHE we have been focusing on self worth, respect, and wellbeing. We have begun a new SPHE progamme called ‘Smart Moves’ which aims to prepare our students for the transition into secondary school.

The class have also taken part in creative activities, including art and project work, which has allowed them to showcase their creativity and independence. We also had Golf Ireland in to teach us some skills which was a particular highlight for the students!

Overall, 6th class have shown a positive attitude towards their learning and should be very proud of the effort they are putting in.
