September 2025
Fourth class have been working really hard in all areas, doing getting back into addition and subtraction in maths as well as exploring new 2D shapes. We have been learning how to write letters and debate in English, arguing important topics like pet ownership and the necessity of homework. Our Gaeilge lessons have been focused on talking about ourselves and our friends. Our class activities during art have been great to express ourselves, creating self portraits, and pictures of autumn leaves. Fourth class A created wind propelled boats for SESE. September has been a great month to get to know each other.
October 2025
4A had a great time harvesting pumpkin seeds this week.
4A learned all about leaves — their parts, their purpose, and how they work — before creating some beautiful leaf rubbings!
November 2025
4th Class went on a school tour to the Vikings in Ireland exhibition in the National Museum of Ireland. We had a great time getting to town and walking around the museum. We really enjoyed seeing all the historical artefacts.
4B have also been working hard to prepare for young engineers, thinking of and building prototypes to common problems we have.
STEM week was also a highlight we did cool experiments like dissolving the dye off of skittles, building egg drop protectors, or trying to build a paper tower as high as we could. And all three classes did projects on Endangered animals!
January 2026
Fourth Class has gotten off to a great start.
During the rainy days we did lots of movement breaks in the classroom, to stop us getting too restless.
4A did some beautiful Starry Night paintings, and 4B some Origami in celebration of Intercultural Week, which is coming soon.
March 2026
4th class has been having a busy term! We had world book day and the children dressed up as their favourite book character.
All three classes went across to Taobh na Coille to participate in a singing competition. We sang two songs each in Irish to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge. We wore green on our Lá Glas for St Patrick's Day. An author came to visit for World Book Day and we drew pictures of a Yeti.
We also had a visit from an engineer group who taught us to build with marshmellows and spaghetti. We had a great talk from a man from the RSA about road safety and we even had a coding workshop!
